Happy almost Thanksgiving!

Hola everybody!

I swear throughout this next week I'm just going to make a bullet point list with highlights because every time it emailing time comes around I can remember zero things.

SOOOO, this week was really awesome and also really hard. We found a lot of miracle potential investigators and we also are really struggling to help the investigators that we do have to progress. It's been a super weird transfer. But, we are teaching some amazing people and we're praying really hard for the guidance on how to help them progress this week!

Sister Ferrin made me cute "birthday" stuff for my 1 year mark <3
We had exchanges this week so I spent a day as an English missionary with one of the greatest friends I have made on my mission, Sister Ferrin! We went to go visit one of the little elderly women in the English ward and we walked in and there is absolutely no other word to describe her house besides Christmas. Like everything, Christmas. I think that's the most festive place I've ever been in. She was starting to try to decorate one of the trees in her living room, but needed tall person's assistance, so we got there right in time! It was so fun to just talk about Christmas and serve her! We're pretty hardcore back home with no Christmas until after Thanksgiving so it was super weird for me at first, but it made us so pumped for this upcoming holiday season!

We had zone conference on Friday! So all of the south of the mission (Las Cruces and all of the El Paso missionaries) got together to listen to our mission president and various mission leaders and it was so good! And I got to see Hermana Bosch and Hermana Oliphant! We always walk out of those meetings just so mentally exhausted because it's such a spiritual overload, but a really good spiritual overload! Hopefully they'll send us our picture from that soon.

This week I've learned a lot about prayer, through personal experience and scripture study. Prayer is one of my favorite things in the world because there is an All Powerful, All Knowing Being that loves us so much individually that He wants to hear from us and help us, so He gave us a way to do that! Prayer is one of the fastest ways to receive comfort and council, and throughout the scriptures I've started to notice that as soon as the people started to get negligent in their prayers, they started to become prideful and other little sins started slipping in and that was the start of a lot of problems. Consistent, sincere prayer is so powerful.Christ taught in the Book of Mormon in 3 Nephi 18:18-20

 18 Behold, verily, verily, I say unto you, ye must watch and pray always lest ye enter into temptation; for Satan desireth to have you, that he may sift you as wheat.
 19 Therefore ye must always pray unto the Father in my name;
 20 And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you

Prayer is the power to stop Satan, the power to receive answers, the power to receive really every blessing that we really need. As long as we pray sincerely, in faith in Christ, our answers always come. I really testify that it's true because I've seen it over and over again in my own life and in the lives of my investigators. Heavenly Father loves each of us more than we could ever comprehend. Whenever you don't know what to do, just pray!

Love you all, have a great week!
Hermana Martin
