We found the color green this week!!!

Hola everybody!

This week was awesome! We went and explored more ancient indian ruins in Pecos and there were so many green trees there! Well, more like big bushes, but they were green! That was the most green I've seen my whole mission! And we got to climb in some old kivas and things so it was fun!

Look, GREEN!
Cool miracle this week, we were coming out of a lesson and we saw a group of older guys a little ways down in the apartment complex and they're really awesome! We were talking to Steve, who is a Vietnam vet and was a prisoner of war in Cambodia (he has crazy amazing stories!) we found out that they were helping their elderly neighbor, Betty, move so we volunteered our help! We came the next morning with the english sisters and as we were talking to Betty it turns out that she's a member of the church! She lost contact the last time she moved and she was trying to call the old number that she had for the missionaries so that they could come help her move, but it didn't work. BUT, Heavenly Father sent us to her anyways!
The old Catholic church
It's my favorite thing to see how God really puts us exactly where we're needed! Now they're getting her records moved into the english ward and those sisters will be able to start helping her!

Also, we have a super cute 9 year old, Britney, that we're teaching and she loves the church, her whole family are members but just don't come very often, but she's really understanding and wants to be baptized so badly! The trouble was helping her get to church and we've been trying just about everything, and this last Sunday they came! She should hopefully be able to be baptized this next month now and hopefully her family will come back to church as they continue to see her amazing example!

Also, General Conference is this next weekend!!! Conference is that absolute greatest thing! Especially as a missionary! But Conference really is what you make it. If you come with questions prepared, ready to learn from the prophet and the other leaders of this day, you will receive answers and be just absolutely filled spiritually!

And we got to pet Juan the chicken this week!
I love the church's page about preparing for conference (https://www.lds.org/general-conference/ideas-to-prepare?lang=eng) (which also has great ideas for how to help children prepare) and I love this quote from one of our apostles, President Utchdorf:

"If we listen to and follow the promptings of the Spirit, they will serve as a Liahona, guiding us through the unknown, challenging valleys and mountains that are ahead (see 1 Nephi 16).

Since the world began, God has raised up prophets who speak the will of heaven to the people of their times. It is our responsibility to listen and then apply the messages the Lord provides for us.

Our merciful and loving Heavenly Father has not forsaken and will not forsake His children. Today, as well as in times past, He has appointed apostles and prophets. He continues to reveal His word to them.

What a marvelous privilege it is to hear God’s messages for each of us during general conference! Let us prepare well for this great blessing of divine guidance delivered by His chosen servants."

It says 'restoration', we couldn't resist
I know that there is a prophet today on the earth and that this church is guided by Jesus Christ Himself, because this is His church. I am excited beyond words for the opportunity to learn and listen to what the Lord would have us do at this hard time in the world and to how we can better come closer to Him. I love this gospel and I love my Saviour, Jesus Christ!

Love you all, have a great week!
